Jambo! Welcome to Tanzania. Today you will arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport.
One of our Gama tours & safari guides will be there, full of enthusiasm, waiting for you. Flights from Amsterdam usually arrive in the evening, so you will be taken directly to the lodge after arrival where you can recover from the flight and start immersing yourself in the African atmosphere. It will be about a 1.5 hour drive from the airport to Arusha.
The safari will start today!
After a delicious breakfast, you will be picked up from the lodge to head to Tarangire National Park. It will take approximately 2/2.5 hours to drive on well-paved roads.
Tarangire is the fifth-largest park in Tanzania, famous for its numerous baobab and acacia trees and large herds of elephants, which are especially visible around the Tarangire River. In addition to the many elephants, there are many other animals to be found. Your personal guide can tell you and show you everything.
Today you will visit ‘one of the African wonders’, the Ngorongoro Crater. The Ngorongoro Crater and Conservation Area (the area around the crater) are definitely worth a visit.
When you descend to the famous Ngorongoro Crater floor, you will see an indescribably beautiful view. You will literally be surrounded by the most beautiful animals and nature. On the crater floor, you will find the highest concentration of wild animals in Africa and have the greatest chance of spotting the black rhinoceros! The people of the well-known Maasai tribe also live in this area. You will encounter them in their traditional red clothing with their herds of goats. The Maasai tour is also highly recommended*.
